Entrepreneurs (average processing time is 4 years)

The Entrepreneur Program seeks to attract experienced business persons who will own and actively manage businesses in Canada, this business will contribute to the economy and create jobs, to qualify as Entrepreneurs, you must:

  • Show that you have business experience in your home country and
  • Have a minimum net worth of C$300,000 that was obtained legally and
  • Respect the conditions for entrepreneurs after they arrive in Canada as they have to operate a business within two years from the date of landing and that business has to last for at least one year being operational.

Steps

If all above conditions are met, then we can start the process; here are the steps to follow:

  1. We process your file to the Federal government of Canada by stating that you will operate an “active” investment project after you land there.
  2. You will have to queue for 4 years to attend an interview with the immigration officer for him to check your assets, business experience, balance sheets, etc and determine if you do qualify to Canada, he might ask you to visit Canada to check how business goes over there before he accepts your file.
  3. You will have the grace period or around 7 months to land in Canada along with your family.
  4. Your landing in Canada is conditional on operating an active business there within the first two years of landing and you have to be DIRECTLY involved in the management of the business in Canada (they will keep on checking on the business and your involvement in it).
  5. Once the officer in Canada is satisfied that you have complied with the condition of operating the business in Canada he will then remove the condition and you will be able to apply for the citizenship.
